The Female Form - Painting - 2.5 days

The focus of this course will be on advanced painting methods to investigate the underlying rhythm, expression and emotion of the Female Form. Students will work to develop clarity of vision that is essential for accurate observation; learning to focus on what is in front of us without being overwhelmed.

An emphasis will be placed on understanding the structure of the model, as well as the artist’s analysis and interpretation. All questions will be answered both visually, as well as verbally.

Watch artist David Kassan work from a shared photo reference as you join along, painting section by section to fill out the nude figure with beautifully blended skin tones. Create realistic contours and muscles using value shifts, and paint a dynamic, soft-focus background that illuminates your entire composition!

Instruction will include discussion of practical technical information on different paint qualities, pigments, palette, mediums, and paint supports.

Students will be challenged to develop a strong foundation from which to explore and evolve.

9 am to 4 pm Mountain Time the first two days with an hour lunch break
Last day is 9am to 12pm
